White Umami – Snowboarding in Japan – brings together twelve of the world’s best snowboarding photographers around a common theme : Japan, a legendary land where endless powder snow and local culture meet in a unique alchemy. From the forests of Hokkaido to the more secret landscapes of Honshu, each image captures that almost unreal snow, which riders from all over the world call “Japow,” as well as the distinctive aesthetics of this country, where nature and urban life blend with elegance.

Presented as part of the Board Culture Exposure festival in Biarritz, the exhibition takes place at Atabal from 30 October to 3 November 2025. Curated by Club Sandwich x BCE, it showcases twelve diverse international perspectives, offering a unique panorama of contemporary snowboard photography. Featuring action shots, tranquil landscapes and evocative portraits, White Umami invites visitors to embark on a sensory journey into the heart of Japanese winter.
The opening, on Thursday 30 October, promises to be a festival highlight : visitors will be able to discover the exhibition before extending the evening with music from DJ Falcon and Étienne de Crécy, iconic figures of the French electro scene.

At the intersection of sport, art, and culture, White Umami provides a visual and auditory experience that honours the creativity of snowboarders and those who document the sport, as well as their ongoing dialogue with the world around them.
