Dance of the Seagulls: Riding Downhill with BTZ’ Activist Youth is a visual exploration of the raw, poetic energy of a collective shaping the youth culture of Biarritz. This exhibition is part of the Board Culture Exposure festival and showcases BTZ Downhill, a group of skateboard and surf enthusiasts who have been bringing the city to life for years with iconic events such as the legendary Downhill de la Milady, an exhilarating urban ride, and the Woodscote Festival, a vibrant celebration of riding, music, and creativity.

The exhibition delves into the unique aesthetic of this movement, revealing how a free-spirited youth transforms public spaces into playgrounds and sites of resistance by blending speed, adrenaline and camaraderie. The photographs capture not only the beauty of the ride but also the sense of community, the appetite for challenge and the creative spirit that characterise the local scene.

Taking place at Le Labho on Monday, October 27th, the exhibition offers a new view of a generation that is redefining board culture in Biarritz, with a local foundation but a global outlook. It is a vibrant tribute to activism, creativity and freedom of movement.
